Internet Marketing? What exactly is it?
and
How could you possibly make money online?
Well first let me explain to you what affiliate marketing is…These two terms “Internet Marketing” and “Affiliate Marketing” are usually found together but they are indeed two different things.
[Affiliate marketing] is basically selling other peoples stuff. You can promote their products or services and you get a commission everytime you make a sale!

[Internet Marketing] is the method by which we sell or promote the affiliate products or services. Now it is true that you could sell your own products or services using internet marketing (which is the ultimate goal) but if you don’t have your own product or service yet or you are just a beginner then affiliate marketing together with internet marketing would be the way to go.
There are many types of marketing included under the term “Internet Marketing”
For Example:
PPC- Pay per click marketing or paid search (the most popular being Google Adwords)
E-mail Marketing – This is where you gather a list of peoples email addresses and promote by sending them e-mails
Article Marketing- Submitting personally written or purchased articles to article databases or websites
Video Marketing – Is a popular form of internet marketing in which you make videos and upload them for the world to view
Search Engine Optimiztion – This is the process by which you optimize your website or blog for a certain keyword so that every time somebody searches for that term in a search engine you come up as the #1 result.
Social Media Marketing – This is essentially gathering a group of friends on a social network such as Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Youtube, and many others and selling to them.

Don’t worry if you didn’t understand what any of these methods meant….I will go into much detail later I promise

Now there are obviously many more methods to advertising online but basically the concept is that you will use these methods to capture searchers and sell them your stuff!
Now this is very similar to a regular store wherever you live.
In a regular store they stock up other people’s products on a shelf and they advertise on t.v. or newspapers or yellow pages and they get people to come into the store and buy things.
The biggest difference between a regular store and “internet marketing” is that with an internet marketing store you don’t have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a physical building, inventory, employees, and expensive advertising. The people walking into the regular store off the street are like the online searchers visiting your website. And the affiliate companies hold all the inventory for you. The best part is that you don’t have to invest money in buying inventory yourself which is a big disadvantage in regular stores where they have to invest most of their capital in buying products to sell. In internet marketing, I’m glad to say that investing in buying inventory is not necessary!

By having a website online selling an affiliate product it is like as if you were to own a regular store on the street without having to invest hundreds of thousands in inventory, employees, expensive advertising, and buildings.
